Our location here in Lebanon is a huge draw for many of the folks who drive through the gates at Cedar Groves. We’re located just off I-40, which takes you straight toward Nashville in one direction and opens up the rest of Middle Tennessee in the other. That means day trips, dinner plans, and plenty of nature to explore.
Nashville, TN
Nashville has too much going on for a one-day sprint, but Cedar Groves’ short drive makes it easy to explore in chapters instead. We love to visit the Nashville Farmers’ Market, then head over to the Tennessee State Museum and the Bicentennial Capitol Mall for some local history. In the afternoon, grab some fresh air on the Shelby Bottoms Greenway, or swap sneakers for something nicer and wander the gardens at Cheekwood. Later, pick a neighborhood and eat your way through it. The Gulch has murals and people-watching, Germantown is known for excellent dinner options, and Printer’s Alley has that old Nashville feel.
Goodlettsville, TN
Goodlettsville sits just north of Nashville and offers a quieter, small-town feel with a strong sense of history and community. It’s an easy drive from Cedar Groves and a nice change of pace from the city, with local cafés, historic sites, and well-loved parks. This is a great spot for a low-key afternoon, a relaxed meal, or some time outside without the crowds or traffic.
Mt. Juliet, TN
Just about 20 minutes from Cedar Groves, Mt. Juliet is a go-to for shopping and dining. Locals love it for Providence Marketplace, an open-air shopping area with everything from big-name stores to lunch spots and coffee stops. Food-wise, you’ll find lots of little local favorites alongside well-known chains. Mt. Juliet is also known for its parks and greenways, including Charlie Daniels Park, which hosts community events, concerts, and walking paths when the weather cooperates. It’s close by, convenient, and great for filling an afternoon!
